The process of doing things to make yourself better. It can be applied to different areas of life, such as skill acquisition, control over the emotions, development of greater physical stamina and so on.

The four parts of personal development :-

1. EMOTION

This part mainly focuses on feelings. It is possible to change the way of your feeling. In addition you can decide, the way you want your emotions to be expressed. Scientifically emotions are just chemical reactions in the brain which we interpret to mean certain things. The reactions themselves are a part of our physiology. Various things happen which cause these impulses. Because emotions are based on physiology. It is possible to deliberately manipulate them. We can decide which kinds of emotions we want to have and learn to make ourselves feel certain ways. This is important because we have a tendency to act out our lives based on how we feel. It can be learn to perform at higher efficiency in every part of our life, if we learn to manage or create emotions that make us feel good about doing it. 

2. BODY

Issues that relate to the body have to do with our physical health. It involves the operation and care of the various systems of our body. The three primary areas where our bodies have to be taken care of in order to ensure good health.

a). NUTRITION

Nutrition are molecules and other substances in food for maintenance of an organism. The seven major classes of human nutrients are carbohydrates, fats, fiber, minerals, proteins, vitamins and water.

b). REST

Rest is the state of the body. When the position of a body with respect to its surroundings does not change with time it is said to be ‘at rest’.

c). PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND EXERCISE

Exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It is performed for various reasons, to aid growth and improve strength, preventing aging and improving health.

Physical activity is defined as any bodily movement done by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure.

Physical activity encompasses all activities. It also includes exercise and incidentally activity integrated into daily activity.  

3. MIND

The mind is the set of faculties including cognitive aspects such as consciousness, imagination, perception, thinking, intelligence, judgement, language and memory, as well as non cognitive aspects such as emotion and instinct.

Mind issues, in regard to personal development, relate to the processing and storage of information. We have the ability to strengthen and manipulate our mental abilities. We can become better at memorization or quicker at recognizing patterns and ideas. Our mind has the capability to change perspectives and focus more effectively. With a bit of efforts, all of these issues relate to mental processes and can be developed to its maximum levels.
